OTTAWA, ON, July 8, 2026 /CNW/ – Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, Ginette Lavack, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services, and Corey Hogan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, as they provide an update on the forecast for the 2026 wildfires season.
Prior to the press conference, Government of Canada officials will host an embargoed media technical briefing to provide an update on the seasonal outlook for wildfires. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions in a “for attribution” capacity.
