EDARAN Otomobil Nasional Bhd (EON) has launched its dedicated Proton automobile website to reach a wider customer base.
DRB-HICOM Bhd head of automotive distribution and EON CEO Mohamed Akkbar Danial said their aim is to be the preferred automobile dealer nationwide by positioning themselves and bringing customers to the forefront of its stores.
He said a strong online presence not only provides a massive opportunity for business growth in digital shift but is also at the heart of the car buying process.
“With over 80% of Malaysian car buyers doing their research online before making a purchase, it is only logical to have a good website that works well on PC, smartphones and tablets.
“The newly-designed website, which was built with the user experience in mind, includes many features to assist users navigate and browse for Proton models easily,” he said in a recent statement.
Mohamed Akkbar added that through the website, the most accurate, up-to-date information and promotions regarding their products are easily accessible for their current and prospective customers to make informed car-buying decisions.
“We endeavour to also offer savvy Malaysian shoppers a virtual showroom to browse and book from a wide range of Proton cars, even when showrooms are closed for any reason,” he added.
In March online used car selling platform, myTukar, signed a strategic partnership agreement with EON as its automobile trade-in partner.
Through the partnership, myTukar will facilitate the end-to-end trade-in process for EON’s customers through vehicle inspections made on-demand for its customers.
EON, a subsidiary of DRB-Hicom, operates dealerships for several brands namely Proton, Mitsubishi, Audi and Volkswagen via EON, EON Automart, Euromobil and Hicom Auto respectively.
EON’s network has 20 branches nationwide.
