MALAYSIA continues to break new records for its Covid-19 cases with 24,599 new cases detected as of noon today.
This surpasses the previous record of 22,948 cases in the country last week.
Three states – Selangor, Sabah and Johor – saw its new cases increase within 24 hours.
Selangor detected a total of 6,936 cases, Sabah with 3,487 cases and Johor with 2,785 cases respectively.
There are now 1,640,843 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country since the pandemic outbreak in January 2020. —
Death cases also reached another record high with 393, surpassing the previous record of 360 earlier this month.
Total fatalities now stood at 15,211.
Active cases increased to 265,841, out of which 990 patients are in the IC with 487 intubated. —TMR
